The Memory of Far Enough Walks

Taking a little pause from the currents of my present, I find myself missing those long walks from the train station to the museum I once worked for in Korea. Taking long walks by myself has afforded me a lot of instances crucial to clearing out my mind and freeing it from the unecessary clutter de temps en temps. How I just wish Manille was just  friendlier for people who do enjoy walking like me.

Sleek in the City

A certain ivresse caused by delusion is best done with a veste de smoking. I let delusion play its part especially now that I'm still questioning my so-called future career path. Or perhaps, in other words, this somehow enables me to stir away reality and translate it into some aesthetic reverie as if I'm Dick Bogarde dans L'Année dernière à Marienbad. Eh ben bon alors, I'm one likely to be seen in a veste de smoking even if there is no occasion. It always works for me that way to add a bit of ostentation to my quotidien. It's always a good way of coping up with life... in general.

Three Colours

It's a new year, I got too tired of dealing with myself (reading an interview of Mark Kozelek somehow took it's effect). And I am trying new means of self-expression... as tacky and as cheesy as that sounds. In this regard, I ought to see the same image in coloured variations. It's not much but it's a semi-conscious attempt at working with colours.

Blisters in the Night

On the occasion of being way too stuffed on dumplings and cutlet at some restaurant in the very affable arrodissement de Jung-gu, there came an impulse to do a little random hiking moment. Et puis I find myself somehow racing to the peak of Namsan with my friend Eunjoo.

Taking My Chances

Eh ben, I took my chances with Juyeon Kim's installation entitled Erasing Memory III which I chanced upon at the Gwangju Biennale. So, in the tons of salt utilised in this installation, one can place their feet amongst the mounds of salt and take time to reflect and meditate. Par ailleurs, the intent of this work is to disperse our memories and fragments of our past through meditation. And these past few days, I seem to be wanting to be more at peace with my past... which weren't really comprised of very affable things or perhaps I'd always like a hole in the memory that can protect you from facing the truth.
