My fondness for folk music and the folk rock thing has much to do with my dad. I remember the last time I went sound tripping with him was over the likes of Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. D'ailleurs, I also do recall my dad suggesting to me that I get my hands on a Joan Baez record. There was also a time, I got him rather chagrined because I dragged him to the counter of a record store and pay for my loot of records. The good thing from this was that his disappointment with my childish ways was prompted towards an otherwise by the beauty of something like Neil Young's Harvest Moon playing days after the incident. Now, I'm thinking of that day I could sound trip once more avec mon père but that's gonna be quite some time from now. For the mean time though, I'd like to be prepared with my own Townes Van Zandt discographie until that day comes. Et alors such occasions would always be ones to look forward to.
