For about 30 minutes, I was blanked out by the fact that Repetto has issued lace-ups with one of my favourite Belgians, Véronique Branquinho (who sadly has halted the production of her eponymous label due to financial constraints over a few mois ago). They are already on sale @ EUR 244,00 at the CORNER from the original EUR 485,00 price tag. I mean I love Branquinho but isn’t an almost EUR 500,00 price tag. For that tag price even the sale price, there seems to be better options than this one but the fact that it’s a Branquinho is just hard to get over it. En fait, I’m actually still mourning that she’s gonna be showing no more in Paris as her menswear shows are often one of my favourites and here comes these Repettos by her.
With a bit of rationalising and examining the little things about this pair of shoes, it must be the iridescent effect of the cloth that makes it expensive. But really, does that kind of treatment just. Oh well high price points are a given with most Belgian designers… how about Ann D, right? I guess for the ‘’frugal’’ bourgeois consumer, it is customary that you always weigh your options and not have the luxury of an excessive Sadean state of mind.
