It looks like Jil Sander has a lot in store for its clientele of the late. First there was the re-introuduction of its range of baskets and another one quite recently which is the launch of their sartorial line. Now, the label brings forth its range of denim. There's just too much happening, I honestly am quite taken by surprise how fast the introduction of new goods and lines are at the house of Jil Sander. And that's all in a span of a few months (well according to my radar but it may not be as accurate as I may believe it to be... haha).
In the usual Jil Sander fashion, it merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design which is evident in the fit, the usage of technologically advanced materials (something which its current creative director Raf Simons is fond of- the discovery and use of new materials). This collection of premium denim rather excites me as I live in my jeans, evidement. Perhaps I could always justify the purchase of a pair of designer jeans that I could use everyday (a sensibility that seems so bourgeois to me but I can't help it). Moving on, the use of denim as a material for suits is rather prompting me to give a two thumbs up but from what it looks like I'm more keen on the suit in a lighter coloured denim below.
The capsule collection consisting of 12 items include suits, 5 pocket slim fit jeans, etc. hits stores early 2009.
